Brainstorming & Refining
the Virtual Reality Scenarios ↗
July 4, 2023 - Tackling Language Barriers
We are making progress in our mission to develop a language-independent virtual reality programme to support the rehabilitation of refugee offenders on probation. The TRAIVR partnership is gathered in Bucharest, Romania, brainstorming and refining the storyboards for our virtual reality scenarios.
We're excited about the progress we've made so far, and this meeting provides a valuable platform to review our development, discuss the project timeline, and further enhance our virtual reality scenarios.
Through the TRAIVR project - Training of Refugee Offenders by Virtual Reality - we're addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable individuals, especially those facing substance abuse problems while on probation. Rehabilitation for this group is especially challenging due to the lack of support programs available in their native languages. |
Our goal is to develop a language-independent virtual reality programme with scenarios that focus on problem-solving and emotion regulation skills. By doing so, we aim to reduce the risk of reoffending and support the successful rehabilitation and reintegration of refugee offenders.
The TRAIVR consortium unites the efforts of international experts, involving organisations from Turkey (Baskent University and Ankara Probation Directorate), Portugal (IPS_Innovative Prison Systems), Germany (Becure GmbH), and Romania (European Strategies Consulting). |
